When announcing their long awaited switch to CS:GO, Fnatic also stated that they wouldn't go to Dreamhack Winter with the entire Counter Strike 1.6 team, as one unnamed player wouldn't make the transition to CS:GO and instead make room for a new fifth.
Speculations and rumors immediately started surface about the possible new fifth and when Dennis "Rytter" Rytter left EYES ON U on November 14, for what was said to be "a better offer", many expected the Dane to link up with the incomplete Fnatic squad.
Fnatic have now put an end to those rumors as they have officially signed Dennis "rytter" Rytter to the squad. Leaving the team is Fnatic's recent addition, Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson who was signed after Richard "Xizt" Landström left the team for a spot at NIP-Gaming in early August. With FYRR73 out of the picture, the team which has boasted Swedish talent ever since its creation is now down to one single Swede in the form of Andreas "MODDII" Fridh.
Rytter, who has branched out for several of Denmark's best CS:S teams in the past, will attend Dreamhack Winter together with his new squad, however, according to the official statement by Patrik "cArn" Sättermon, Fnatic are "... basically trying our Rytter at this point".
The official statements can be found below:
Fnatic's new fifth, Dennis "Rytter" Rytter said the following to Fnatic.com:
Im thrilled to get the opportunity to play with a team like Fnatic at DreamHack. It's not every day you get the chance to play with some of the best players in the world, so it was an easy choice for me saying yes to them.
See you in Sweden!
Patrik "cArn" Sättermon, Chief Gaming Officer at Fnatic, said:
The past days have been super hectic deciding who will step in for us at Dreamhack Winter as Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson has decided to withdraw from his position in the team. Emil has expressed that he currently has no desire to transfer into CS:GO, something that will require a lot of time and dedication from our players as we have only played Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS:Online in the last months.
I can now confirm that the Danish player Dennis "Rytter" Rytter will step in for us at Dreamhack, where he will take over Karrigan's role as the in-game leader for the team. The team literally took their first steps in CS:GO three days ago. but still we will do our very best to perform at Dreamhack. Fnatic left CS1.6 as the undisputed kings, and we have nothing but these goals in CS:GO as well - game on!
So as you can read from my statement we are basically trying our Rytter at this point, maybe this can go in the text somehow to make it even clearer. But at the same time, we have big faith in this player - it can't sound like we are uncertain as well. Hard balance I know but see what you can do!
Also make sure we send our thanks to Emil, and try include some of his success in our team the past months!
Fnatic's Dreamhack Winter 2012 line-up consists of:
Michael "Friis" Jørgensen
Finn "karrigan" Andersen
Martin "trace" Heldt
Dennis "Rytter" Rytter
Andreas "MODDIII" Fridh
